Advantages and disadvantages of Facebook
Today is the age of science and technology.Science has brought miraculous changes in the field of health,agriculture,transportation,communication and so on. Different inventions has been made which makes our daily life convenient and sometime brings devastating results.Facebook is one of such invention.Facebook is a social networking site,which aims at connecting people all around the world.Facebook was invented by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 February 4 and is used by most of the people all over the world.Facebook,however the most famous social networking site,comes with its own pros and cons.
There are many advantages of Facebook. The major advantage of Facebook is that it has enhanced the advanced communication.We can make a lot of friends through Facebook. We can share our ideas and information using Facebook and many people can take benefit from it.As it is a global social networking site,we can get easily connected with the people worldwide,no matter from where they belong. Moreover, we can communicate with our family members,friends,colleagues who are far from us.As Facebook facilitate messaging,voice calling and also video calling.We may use any of the method we like to communicate.We can use Facebook chat for group discussion,while some business can use it for short meetings.It provides us a small chatting application that we can use to chat with our friends.Video calling facility in Facebook make us feel that we are not far from our loved ones.Facebook has turned the huge world into a global village.
Along with means of communication facebook can be taken as a major source of information.It can be the best source of information.It can be the best source to stay updated with the latest news and information.We can get all information of the world by sitting in one corner of a room.Advertisement of different products and services, vacancy for job can be found on facebook thus, increasing the possibilities of making money on internet.Facebook can be used in entertainment zone as well.Facebook provides many online games.We can upload our photos and share our beautiful moments among facebook user and make it memorable.
However, a coin has always two sides.There may be many more benefits of facebook but has some drawbacks too.Facebook lacks privacy.Today people use facebook to share their personal updates due to which one's privacy is automatically compromised.Facebook might be misused for criticism and spreading scams.Many cases of public violence,religious tension and false rumors are spread through facebook which creates social conflict and disturbs the social environment. Fake accounts can be created on facebook which people may use for bullying,abusing and blackmailing someone.Many cases of harassment and abuse through facebook are frequently reported,especially among teenagers. It has increased cyber crime which is considered to be the burning problem of current society.
People are wasting too much of their time on facebook. Some people are even addicted to facebook that they prefer to live in the virtual world rather than the real world.They neglect their family,friends and work.It has kept us away from real people and eventually creating problems with real-life relationships,relatives,school or in the career. Although facebook has helped us to create a lot of friends in the virtual world but in actual we have very less friends on real.We are too proud that we get the world information but infact we may be unaware what is happening in our neighbour. Excessive use of Facebook can isolate us from our family and friends.
A group of youth seated around a coffee table are glued to their facebook account to share the moment to their facebook friends but do not talk with each other shows the reality of today's world. It wastes our valuable time.
It is concluded that everything in the world has pros and cons, so ,has facebook. However,it depends on how we use it. If we use it in proper way with proper care then it would be an amazing site for us. But if we misuse it , it can be a curse for us.Using it wisely is important so that it will not be harmful to us. If we make the use of facebook wisely,it can be the best platform for us to share our feelings,life events,achievements,problems to others and we may be able to get some guidance,support and help from different people.So be careful and use facebook wisely and be away from any kind of cyber crime.
